Charles King Irwin (father)

[1] (18 July 1837[2]–3 January 1915[3]) was an eminent Irish clergyman[4] Irwin was educated at Trinity College, Oxford[5] and ordained in 1861[6] After a curacy at Derrynoose he held incumbencies at Kilmore, Brantry,[7] Keady[8]Clonfeacle and Armagh.

[9] He was appointed Keeper of Public Library in 1913.

[11] His father, also Charles King Irwin,[12] was Precentor of St Patrick's Cathedral, Armagh; and his son, a third Charles King Irwin, was a bishop in three dioceses.
