Chaudhary Mateen Ahmed (born 5 November 1958) is an Indian politician from Delhi belonging to the Aam Aadmi Party.
Mateen was born on 5 November 1958 to Chaudhary Mehfooz Ali at Todarpur Village, Hapur District, Uttar Pradesh.
[3] In 1996, he left Janata Dal and joined the Congress party, but during the 1998 Delhi Assembly election, he was denied a ticket by the INC,[4] so he ran as an independent candidate and defeated Data Ram (BJP) by 16,375 votes, thus improving his tally.
[6][7] In 2013, he was elected again for the Fifth Legislative Assembly of Delhi, defeating Kaushal Kumar Mishra (BJP) by 21,728 votes.
[9] He was elected as a chairman of the Delhi Wakf Board in November 2004, succeeding Haroon Yusuf.
