Cheney /ˈtʃiːni/ is a city in Sedgwick County, Kansas, United States.
[4][5] Cheney served as a station and shipping point on the Wichita & Pratt division of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway.
[7] Cheney is located approximately 22 miles west of the outskirts of Wichita.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.99 square miles (5.15 km2), all of it land.
[8] The climate in this area is characterized by hot, humid summers and generally mild to cool winters.
[9] The 2020 United States census counted 2,181 people, 818 households, and 584 families in Cheney.
