[2] Chhuikhadan town in Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai district of Chhattisgarh was the capital of the state and the see of the Mahant's residence.

However, after the defeat of Marathas, they were recognized by the British as feudatory chiefs in 1865 conferring the title and sanad to Mahant Laxman Das.
