Chlumčany is a municipality and village in Plzeň-South District in the Plzeň Region of the Czech Republic.
Chlumčany consists of two municipal parts (in brackets population according to the 2021 census):[2] The name is derived from the word chlum, i.e. 'forested hill'.
It lies mostly in the Švihov Highlands, only the western part of the municipal territory extends into the Plasy Uplands.
The last noble owners of Chlumčany were the Schönborn family, who acquired the estate in 1794.
In addition to its technical function, it is considered an architecturally valuable building.
