[1] Snell played in the Oshawa Kiwanis Minor Hockey program in the OMHA and was a member of the 1987–88 All-Ontario Midget Championship team.
[citation needed] He was drafted in the 4th round (57th overall) in the 1988 OHL Priority Selection by the Ottawa 67's where he played for legendary coach Brian Kilrea.
[citation needed] He played in thirty-four games in the National Hockey League: two with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1993–94 and thirty-two with the Los Angeles Kings in 1994–95.
