She won the bronze medal (along with Alexandra Tsiavou) at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, in the Women's lightweight double sculls.
[3] Her first major international competition was during the 2006 World Rowing U23 Championships which was held in Hazewinkel, Belgium.
[5] In 2009, she first competed along with Alexandra Tsiavou in Women's lightweight double sculls during 2009 World Rowing Championships in Poznań.
[6][7][8] Giazitzidou also won the 2009, 2010 and 2011 Under-23 World Championships with Triantafyllia Kalampoka, following the pair winning the silver in 2008.
