Her parents were of Vietnamese origin; they emigrated from Saigon (present day Ho Chi Minh City) to the United States in 1975 after the Vietnam War.

The menu showcases their Vietnamese-American heritage and culinary skills with a contemporary approach to traditional Vietnamese dishes with a touch of Texas BBQ and Gulf Coast seafood.
