Born to a Taiwanese father and a German American mother in Germany,[1][2][3] she moved to the United States at a young age.
She began her professional career as an orchestral musician before relocating to Los Angeles to work in the recording, film, and television industries.
She went on to earn a Master of Music from the University of Southern California with a full scholarship, studying with pedagogue Robert Lipsett of the Colburn School.
