Chung Tung-chin (Chinese: 鍾東錦; pinyin: Zhōng Dōngjǐn; born 2 January 1963) is a Taiwanese politician.
[3] Chung ran as a Kuomintang (KMT) candidate for the 2022 Miaoli County magistrate election but did not receive the party's endorsement; the KMT nomination went to Hsieh Fu-hung (traditional Chinese: 謝福弘; simplified Chinese: 谢福弘) instead.
[5][6] During the election campaign, Chung promised to continue the incumbent magistrate Hsu Yao-chang's policies.
[8] That same month, Hsieh Fu-hung, the DPP, and the New Power Party presented evidence indicating that Chung had been convicted of murder in 1987, and urged him to withdraw his candidacy.
[11] The Miaoli District Court rejected the allegations in July 2023, determining that Chung's supporters and campaign staff had given money to other candidates for local political office.
