Clarence is a city in western Shelby County, Missouri, United States.

[5] According to tradition, the community has the name of Clarence Duff, the son of a pioneer citizen.

[7] Clarence is located in southwest Shelby County on Missouri Route 151 along the south side of U.S. Route 36 approximately ten miles east of Macon in adjacent Macon County.
