He graduated from the Beloit public schools in 2011, and received an associate's degree from University of Wisconsin–Whitewater at Rock County in 2016.
Since graduating from college, he has worked as a volunteer coordinator at a shelter for survivors of domestic violence.
[4] Within days, Anderson announced his candidacy for the 45th Assembly district seat being vacated by Spreitzer.

His brother, Spencer Anderson, served as an elected member of the Beloit school board.
