Member State of the Arab League The Cabinet of Syria (Arabic: مجلس وزراء سوريا, romanized: Majlis wuzarāʾ Sūriyā) was first constituted in the Syrian Constitution of 1930.
Following the fall of the Assad regime on 8 December 2024, Syria is currently undergoing a political transition, with Mohammed al-Bashir leading a Syrian Transitional Government.
According to the most recent Constitution of Syria adopted in 2012:[1] Section 2 The Council of Ministers Appointment:[2] Powers:[2] Removal:[2] A transitional government was formed following the fall of the Assad regime on 8 December 2024.
Outgoing prime minister Mohammad Ghazi al-Jalali continued in that role as a caretaker until Mohammed al-Bashir was designated as prime minister on 10 December 2024.
[3] Caretaker Prime Minister Mohammad al-Bashir told Al Jazeera on 16 December 2024 that "for the time being" ministers from the Syrian Salvation Government (SSG) would head national ministries.
