The unincorporated community of Rauchtown occupies the northeastern part of the township.

As of the census[7] of 2000, there were 848 people, 308 households, and 244 families residing in the township.

There were 308 households, out of which 33.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 68.8% were married couples living together, 4.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 20.5% were non-families.

16.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 8.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
