Cryptocarya onoprienkoana, commonly known as rose maple, southern maple, rose walnut or pigeonberry ash[2] is a species of flowering plant in the family Lauraceae and is endemic to Queensland.
Cryptocarya onoprienkoana is a tree that typically grows to a height of up to 35 m (115 ft), its stems buttressed.
The flowers creamy green and perfumed, arranged in panicles in leaf axils and are no longer than the leaves.
[2][3] Cryptocarya onoprienkoana was first formally described in 1989 by Bernard Hyland in Australian Systematic Botany from specimens collected in 1983.
[2] This species of Cryptocarya is listed as "of least concern" under the Queensland Government Nature Conservation Act 1992.
