Déjean Bélizaire is a Haitian politician who served as president of the Senate from 1991 to 1993.
[1] He was the head of Haitian Students Union (UNEH) in the late 1950s.
He is a former chairman a center-left party Mouvement National Patriotique de 28 Novembre (MNP 28).
He was the president of the Senate when Jean-Bertrand Aristide was overthrown in a coup d'état in September 1991.
[4] In February 2016 Bélizaire was a candidate for the position of a provisional president,[5] but lost the elections.
