D.C. Curtis

Derwood Clayiborne Curtis[1] (born December 13, 1953)[2][3] is a retired vice admiral in the United States Navy who served as the Commander, Naval Surface Forces and concurrently Commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet from March 2008[4][5] to June 2011.

[6] Born in Japan[2] and raised in Chicago, Curtis graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1976 where he earned a bachelor's degree in political science.

Curtis served in a variety of sea and shore assignments.

He holds a Master of Science degree in administration from Central Michigan University and is a graduate of the National Defense University and the NATO Defense College Senior Course.
