Daniela Thomas (born 1959) is a Brazilian film director, screenwriter and editor.
In 1959, Thomas was born as Daniela Gontijo Alves Pinto in Brazil.
In 1994, Thomas co-directed her first feature film, Terra Estrangeira aka Foreign Land, alongside Walter Salles.
[1] In 1998, Thomas debuted as a theatre director with her version of The Seagull by Anton Chekhov, starring Fernanda Montenegro and assisted by Luiz Päetow.
Thomas was also one of two creative directors for Rio's contribution to the 2016 Summer Olympics opening ceremony.
