David Peter Hoppmann (September 5, 1940 – November 17, 1975) was an American football player.

He attended East High School in Madison.

[1] He played for the Iowa State Cyclones football team from 1959 to 1962.

[3] Hoppmann was drafted in the sixth round (87th overall pick) by the New York Giants.

[1][4] Hoppman was killed at age 35 when his car was rear-ended by a semi-trailer truck in Martin County, Florida, in November 1975.
