David Earl Nething (June 29, 1933 – December 2, 2024) was an American politician in the state of North Dakota.
Nething was born in Valley City, North Dakota, on June 29, 1933.

[1] Nething was elected to the North Dakota State Senate for District 29 as a Republican and served until 2012.
He served stints as majority leader (1975–1985) president pro tempore (1997–98).
