Dave Norris (athlete)

At the 1962 British Empire and Commonwealth Games he won the silver medal in the men's long jump.

At the 1958 British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Cardiff he had won the bronze medal in the triple jump.

[2][3] Norris won a total of 28 national titles and broke 11 records in jumping and hurdling events over his career.

[5] Norris was part of a dedicated team who, led by Sir Graeme Avery, created the Millennium Institute of Sport and Health on Auckland's North Shore.

[5] In the 2002 Queen's Birthday and Golden Jubilee Honours, Norris was appointed an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit, for services to athletics and the community.
