Davenport, South Australia

Davenport is a suburb in the Australian state of South Australia located about 282 kilometres (175 mi) north of the state capital of Adelaide and about 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) north-east of the municipal seat in Port Augusta.

[1] The names of private roads and the numbering of property within the suburb were approved by the council meeting of the City of Port Augusta held on 27 October 2014.

[7] Land use within Davenport is residential, however planning regulations do permit the establishment of facilities for recreation, "small scale light industry" and community use which are consistent with the historical character of the community living within the suburb.

[11] Davenport includes the Wami Kata Old Folks Home, an aged care facility, and the former Umeewarra Mission building which as of 2014 was scheduled for demolition despite calls for its retention by former occupants.

"[14] Davenport is located within the federal division of Grey, the state electoral district of Stuart and the local government area of the City of Port Augusta.
