David Cook (Arkansas politician)

David Ray Cook (born January 24, 1950) is an American educator and politician who served three terms in the Arkansas House of Representatives.

[1] In 2004, Cook ran in the Democratic primary to succeed retiring House majority leader Harmon Seawel.

[1] In 2010, Cook opted to seek election to the U.S. House of Representatives from Arkansas's 1st congressional district, after incumbent Robert Marion Berry announced his retirement.

[1][4] He placed third in the Democratic primary behind former state senator Tim Wooldridge and Berry's chief of staff, Chad Causey, the eventual nominee.

[6] Cook was succeeded in the state house by fellow Democrat Linda Collins-Smith, who switched parties seven months into her term.
