David Farragut Edwards

David Farragut Edwards (c. 1872 – December 6, 1930) was an American college football player and coach, and a lawyer.

Before coaching, Edwards played football at Princeton University.

[1] In 1897, at Ohio State, Edwards had a 1–7–1 record, the worst in the history of the program.

He was the first Ohio State Buckeyes football coach to face Michigan.

Edwards died at the age of 58, on December 7, 1930, of "acute indigestion" in at his home in Spring Lake, New Jersey.
