Davison is a city in Genesee County in the U.S. state of Michigan and a suburb of Flint.
The line of the Chicago and Lake Huron Railroad (now Canadian National Railway) through the settlement was finished in 1871 marked the beginning of Davison Station.
The township and the settlement had in 1872 a number of firsts: doctor, L. W. Hanson, merchant Damon Stewart and tavern owned and operated by Henry S.
[6] On April 10, 1872, Davison Station post office open[7] with Stewart as the postmaster.
On April 30, 1894, part of downtown, dubbed the Rotten Row, caught fire and wiped the section out.
[8] In January 2010, it was announced that Davison City Manager Dale Martin and Davison Township, Michigan Supervisor Kurt Soper had begun preliminary meetings discussing the possibility of merging the two municipalities.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.98 square miles (5.13 km2), all land.
The Mayor of Davison, a position currently held by Tim Bishop, is mostly titular, with most of the executive power being vested in the city manager.
