The Republican Party for Democracy and Renewal (Arabic: الحزب الجمهوري للديموقراطية والتجديد; French: Parti républicain pour la démocratie et le renouvellement, PRDR) was a political party in Mauritania.
[1] Formerly very supportive of President Mu'awiya al-Taya and his policies, after the August 2005 coup, the party denounced Taya's policies and the mid-2006 Israeli military campaign in Lebanon.
Sidi Mohamed Ould Boubacar, one of the bloc's members, was nominated as Prime Minister a few days after the 2005 coup.
As of 2008[update], the PRDR is part of the Mithaq El Wihda coalition and is led by Sidi Mohamed Ould Mohamed Vall.
