He won the 2018 Spengler Cup with KalPa Godla was called up for four games during the 2014-15 KHL season with HC Slovan Bratislava.

[2] On September 28, 2015 Godla signed a one-year contract with Kokkolan Hermes of the Finnish Mestis league.

The Slovaks got off to a rough start, losing 8–0 to the powerhouse Canadians, with Godla once again being pulled for Okoličaný.

The following day Godla picked up his first international win in a 2–1 upset of defending champion Finland.

Godla's performance was enough to secure Slovakia a 3rd-place finish in Group A, and a spot in the playoff round.
