Dennis Hopper (May 17, 1936 – May 29, 2010) was an American actor, director, writer, film editor, photographer and artist.
He subsequently appeared in Rumble Fish (1983) and The Osterman Weekend (1983), and received critical recognition for his work in Blue Velvet and Hoosiers, with the latter film garnering him an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor.
Hopper starred in the 1990 Motion Picture Flashback which was inspired by the 1960s Love Movement.
He also played the villains King Koopa in Super Mario Bros (1993), and Howard Payne in Speed (1994).
Hopper died of prostate cancer on May 29, 2010, 12 days after his 74th birthday and two months after he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
