[10] he made his début for York on Saturday 13 October 1956, he played in a trial match for the 1958 Great Britain Lions tour of Australia and New Zealand, but ultimately he was not selected for Great Britain, he played his last match for York on Saturday 20 September 1958, he retired from rugby league due to a knee-injury.

Denzil Webster won a cap while at Castleford, he played at centre in Yorkshire's (RL) 14-2 victory over Cumberland at Bradford Northern's stadium on Wednesday 5 October 1955.

[12] Denzil Webster played at centre in York's 8-15 defeat by Huddersfield in the 1957–58 Yorkshire Cup Final during the 1957–58 season at Headingley Rugby Stadium, Leeds on Saturday 19 October 1957.

[13] Denzil Webster's marriage to Doreen M. (née Wilkinson, who was the Head of Girls PE at Castleford Grammar School) was registered during third 1⁄4 1956 in Leeds district.

[14] They had children; the future cricketer of the 1970s and 1980s for Acomb; John M. Webster (birth registered third 1⁄4 1958 (age 66–67) in Howden district).
