Dick Johnson Township, Clay County, Indiana

[4] Dick Johnson Township was established in the late 1830s.

This township was named for Richard Mentor Johnson, the ninth Vice President of the United States, serving in the administration of Martin Van Buren.

[5] There is also a Van Buren Township in Clay County in honor of the 8th President.
