The Discovery 7.9 is a Canadian sailboat, that was designed by Alex McGruer and first built in 1975.
[1][3] The boat was built by Grampian Marine in Canada between 1975 and 1977, but it is now out of production.
[1][4] After Grampian's end of production the molds were acquired by a new company who built a small number of boats with different window arrangements.
[4] The Discovery 7.9 is a small recreational keelboat, built predominantly of fiberglass, with wood trim.
It has a masthead sloop rig, a raked stem, a vertical transom, a transom-hung rudder and a fixed fin keel.
