The type locality was given as Marguerite Bay and Jenny Island on the Antarctic Peninsula.
Roule did not explain this but it may be a reference to this taxon's taller, but not longer, dorsal fin in comparison with Artedidraco.
The head has a width which is roughly the same as their depth and the post temporal ridges are weakly developed.
It is a bathydemersal species which is found at depths of 203 to 1,145 m (666 to 3,757 ft) in the sublittoral and continental shelf.
Calanoid copepods, unidentified crustaceans, cumaceans, hydroids, and mysids are consumed but are not important parts of the diet.
