Rymes played at Miami Northwestern Senior High School he is former teammates with professional football player Teddy Bridgewater.
Following the 2019 season Rhymes and the Redblacks were unable to come to an agreement for a new contract and he became a free agent on February 11, 2020.
[5] However, he did not play in 2020 due to the cancellation of the 2020 CFL season and then signed a one-year contract extension with the team on December 14, 2020.
[10] He played in ten regular season games in 2023, missing time due to injury, where he had 35 receptions for 535 yards and six touchdowns.
