Dora Siegel (later Gad) was born in Câmpulung Moldovenesc,[citation needed][dubious – discuss] Romania.

There she met her future husband, Heinrich Yehezkel Goldberg, an architecture student.

[citation needed] Gad began her career in the office of architect Oskar Kaufmann.

Gad incorporated locally available fabrics, wool carpets, woven work, straw and felt in her designs.

Gad continued to work independently in both the public and private sectors until her death, in 2003.
