Dorothy Alison

Dorothy Alison (4 April 1925 – 17 January 1992) was an Australian stage, film and television actress.

[1] Dorothy Alison was born in the New South Wales mining city of Broken Hill and educated at Sydney Girls High School.

[3] Aside from her numerous, mostly supporting film roles, she appeared in several television programmes and mini-series, including a prominent role in A Town Like Alice, The Adventures of Robin Hood as the Duchess Constance and other TV shows.

[4][5] She was nominated for two BAFTA awards: Most Promising Newcomer for Mandy (1952) and Best British Actress for Reach for the Sky (1956).

[6][7] For her performance in A Town Like Alice, she won the 1982 Logie Award (Australian television) for Best Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or Telemovie.
