[2] He was them appointed commander of the 36th Infantry Brigade also in 1944 and Deputy Chief of Staff for the 15th Army Group in 1945.

[2] He was promoted to the acting rank of major general on 11 September 1945, shortly after the war ended.

[2] He was made commander of the British Military Mission to Greece in 1949 and Chief of Staff Middle East Land Forces in 1951.

[2] He became Vice Quartermaster General at the War Office in 1953 and Military Advisor to West African Governments in 1956.
