It was led by the 14th Premier of Ontario, George Drew.
The ministry was made up of members of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario, which commanded at first a minority of seats, and later a majority of the seats in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario.
The Drew ministry governed through the 21st and 22nd Parliaments of Ontario.
Drew resigned after he lost his own seat in the 1948 Ontario general election, though his party sustained its parliamentary majority; he would soon go on to lead the federal Progressive Conservative Party of Canada.
Drew was succeeded as Premier of Ontario by ministry colleague Thomas Laird Kennedy.
