Duco Valentijn Telgenkamp (born 17 July 2002)[2] is a Dutch field hockey player who plays as a forward for Hoofdklasse club Kampong and the Netherlands national team.
[9] During the men's field hockey final at the 2024 Summer Olympics, Duco Telgenkamp became the center of a significant controversy following the Netherlands' victory over Germany.
After a tense match that ended in a 1-1 draw, the Dutch team won 3-1 in a penalty shootout, with Telgenkamp scoring the decisive goal against German goalkeeper Jean-Paul Danneberg.
Following the goal Telgenkamp mocked Danneberg by making a shushing gesture,[10] which sparked a physical altercation on the field.
This incident drew widespread media attention and led to discussions about sportsmanship at the Olympic level.
