Dame Eleanor Jane Milner-Gulland DBE (born 3 June 1967) is the Tasso Leventis Professor of Biodiversity in the Department of Biology at the University of Oxford, and director of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Conservation Science.
[1] She is an expert on understanding and influencing human behaviour to reduce biodiversity loss, on enabling businesses to improve their environmental and social sustainability, and on controlling the illegal wildlife trade.
She then went to Imperial College London to complete a PhD in conservation biology supervised by John Beddington.
In 2015 she became the Tasso Leventis Professor of Biodiversity at the University of Oxford and a fellow of Merton College.
[11] Milner-Gulland was appointed Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE) in the 2023 Birthday Honours for services to international conservation.
