It was founded in 2019, the year in which the Assembly of Madrid approved Law 4/2019, of March 20, recognizing the private university "ESIC Universidad".

For its establishment as a university, the promoters requested the recognition of the ESIC Foundation for Higher Studies and Research as a private university, with the name "ESIC Universidad", which would be established in the territorial scope of the Community of Madrid and would provide face-to-face education.

Under the name "Escuela Superior de Ingenieros Comerciales (ESIC)," this school was founded in 1965 by the Priests of the Sacred Heart.

This business school has been affiliated with the Rey Juan Carlos University in the Community of Madrid until its disaffiliation in 2020.

Currently, the business school remains affiliated with the universities [1]Rovira i Virgili in Catalonia, Miguel Hernández in the Valencian Community and Universidad San Jorge in Aragón, in addition to being an authorized center for obtaining the "Bachelor in Business Administration" through an agreement with the Florida Atlantic University of the United States, in the Community of Madrid, Catalonia and Navarre.
