ESO 269-57 is a large barred spiral galaxy located about 150 million light-years away[2] in the constellation Centaurus.

[4][5] which is also known as the NGC 5064 Group[6][4] which is part of the Centaurus Supercluster.

[6] ESO 269-57 has an inner ring surrounding its bright center and connected by its bar.

The ring is made up of several tightly wound spiral arms.

[3] On March 3, 1992 a type Ia supernova was discovered in ESO 269-57.
