Dumfries and Galloway Council are trying to find funding to reopen the station.

[1] It was renamed as Eastriggs by the London Midland and Scottish Railway on 1 May 1923.

Station buildings still exist, currently as private houses.

Reports between 2022 and 2023 show that Transport Scotland has dismissed the plans of the Eastriggs Railway Station Action Group (ERSAG) [4] for the re-opening of Eastriggs railway station.
