Edward Thomas Gatto (December 26, 1916 – June 9, 1944) was an American football tackle who played for the LSU Tigers.
He attended high school at S. J. Peters before playing college football at LSU.
[3] Following his collegiate career, he was chosen as the 33rd pick in the 1939 NFL draft by the Cleveland Rams.
He did not play with the Rams and was shortly afterwards drafted into the United States Army during World War II.
Gatto partook in the D-Day invasion, landing on Omaha beach roughly 75 minutes after it began.
