Edinburg, Virginia

Edinburg is a town in Shenandoah County, Virginia, United States.

[5] Before becoming incorporated in 1852, Edinburg was also previously known by the names of Shryock and Stony Creek.

[6] The name "Shryock" was used by Prince Bernhard of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach in 1825 to describe Edinburg as he passed through the Shenandoah Valley.

[8] According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.7 square miles (1.9 km2), all of it land.

Virginia State Route 185 connects US 11 to Interstate 81, which travels north–south just west of the town limits.
