Edward Nowell Twopeny (24 October 1854 – 17 February 1932) was an Australian politician who represented the South Australian House of Assembly multi-member seat of Newcastle from 1917 to 1918, representing the Liberal Union.
His family migrated to South Australia when he was six, and he was educated at St. Peter's College in Adelaide.
He was chairman of the District Council of Hammond for fifteen years, a District Council of Kanyaka councillor for over twenty years, and its chairman at the time of his death.
Two sons fought in World War I; one was killed, while the other was awarded the Military Cross.
[2] Upon his death, the Quorn Mercury described Twopeny as the "Father of the District".
