Edward Smyth-Osbourne

Lieutenant General Sir Edward Alexander Smyth-Osbourne, KCVO, CBE (born 18 May 1964) is a retired senior British Army officer.

He studied at the University of St Andrews, graduating with an undergraduate Master of Arts (MA Hons).

[2] He went on to be Commanding Officer of the Household Cavalry Regiment in 2005[3] and in that role deployed to Afghanistan in 2007.

[11] Smyth-Osbourne was appointed Colonel of The Life Guards and Gold Stick in Waiting to the Queen on 7 June 2019.

[12] He was appointed Honorary Colonel Wiltshire Army Cadet Force on 1 December 2024.
