Electoral district of City of Sydney

[1] It was created by the 1843 Electoral Districts Act and initially called the electoral district of Town of Sydney and a first returned two members.

[1] With the expansion of the Council in 1851 it elected three members.

The district was represented by the Legislative Assembly electorate of Sydney City.

Two members to be elected Robert Lowe resigned in November 1849.

[8] William Wentworth resigned in April 1854 from the Legislative Council while he went to England to watch over the progress of the Constitution Bill in the British parliament.
