Elkhorn Wildlife Area

[2][3] The area was set aside in 1971 for protecting migrating elk and deer during the winter months.

Ownership of the land falls principally to the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife with 26.57 km2 (10.26 mi2), almost 76%.

The remainder is divided amongst the United States Forest Service, the Bureau of Land Management, and private owners.
