Ellerbe is a town in Richmond County, North Carolina, United States.
By 1923 it had grown to a population of over 500, with several mills, two banks, three churches, a telephone exchange, and a hotel.

As of the 2020 United States census, there were 864 people, 398 households, and 284 families residing in the town.
29.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 13.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
