Elstertrebnitz is a municipality in Saxony, lying southwest of Leipzig and northeast of Zeitz.
Elstertrebnitz lies to the south of Leipzig, in a low-lying basin approximately 15 km northeast of Zeitz.
The regions Elstertrebnitz and Hohenmölsen are separated by the open cast mine Profen.
The Elstermühlgraben operated the mills from the Elstertrebnitz to Kleindalzig until the 20th century.
The Pegauer Baths, which lie directly beside the Elstermühlgraben, cleaned and used the water for their facility.
